By now, we all know about the pain and the helplessness of the farmers in Maharashtra because of the draught like situation, which is driving them to end their lives, as they are unable to earn their livelihood. There have been many who are reaching out to them and trying to help in their own ways and means.
The media had recently reported about Akshay Kumar's contribution of around Rs. 90 lakhs for the drought relief fund in Marathwada. Besides him, there is the inimitable Nana Patekar, who has set up 'Naam Foundation' in association with fellow Marathi actor Makrand Annaspure. Nana also said that the amount collected by 'Naam Foundation' will be used to provide gainful employment to the youth in villages which are suffering from drought.
